Australian Resource Network for Clinical  Genetics

THE GATEWAY TO GENETIC PRACTICE IN AUSTRALIA

Welcome to the Australian Resource Clinical Genetics Network (ARCGeNet) website. ARCGeNet is developed to help primary care physicians respond to the new challenges posed by the practice of the new genetics. Due to rapid advances in human genetics research and increased public awareness of genetic conditions, there have been increased demands for counselling and testing at primary care level. In order to support the clinician’s role in genetic services at point-of-care, this website is established to provide, at their  fingertips, useful and up-to-date information for clinical genetic practice.

ARCGeNet compiles reviewed and selected information, computer tools, databases and resources that are especially relevant to clinical genetics practice. It contains information on:

§         Genetic clinics and gene testing laboratories around Australia

§         Genetic support groups in Australia

§         Genetic counselling and testing

§         Computer tools for constructing pedigrees and risk calculation

§         Online curricula and education materials on various genetic topics

§         Databases and resources

ARCGeNet is developed and maintained by the School of Health Information Management, The University of Sydney. In order to make this web site more useful and relevant to your practice, your  suggestions are welcome. You can forward your suggestions by email or feedback form.
